Q. Can you provide the equipment that I would need to stalk?
A. We provide everything you need, including shooting sticks and binoculars. We use quality up to date estate rifles in various deer legal calibres, fitted with the very best Swarovski illuminated optics.

Q. In what areas do you stalk?
A. At County Deer Stalking we provide first class deer stalking for five of the UK's six species of deer. Our stalking is over thousands of acres of superb, picturesque countryside in the south east of England. We offer deer stalking in London, Surrey, Sussex, Oxfordshire, Kent, Hampshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk - all within easy access of London and the M3 & M4 corridors.

Q. What does a typical stalk offer?
A. We are very different from most other deer stalking providers. If you are new to us, we normally start by shooting at a life size deer target to check your rifle skills and marksmanship. Tuition will be provided if required. We then set off on a three hour guided stalk. Occasionally we use high seats for a short period but this is the exception rather than the rule. Upon the successful shooting of a deer, we can show you how to ‘gralloch’ and inspect a carcass. We find that many people like to take the carcase home with them but feel uncertain about how to deal with it. If requested we are happy to demonstrate how to skin and butcher a carcase in the field.

Q. I’m fairly new to stalking, do you offer any tuition?
A. Yes. We have developed a series of practical courses especially designed to teach beginners the theory, skills and fieldcraft required to become a highly competent stalker. Our ‘Proficient Deerstalker’ courses (levels 1 &2) turn beginners into seriously effective hunters in just 1 year! See our ‘Proficient Deer Stalker’ courses for details

Q. Do your courses replace DSC1?
A. DSC1 is an excellent way to study the theory and facts about deer stalking which we fully endorse. Our practical courses teach people some theory, but concentrate on developing stalkers practical skills to become a proficient hunter.

Q. I would like to apply for a firearms license, can you assist me?
A. Yes we are happy to assist our clients. Once you have gained experience with us, we can offer you assistance and guidance in applying for your own Firearm Certificate. The advice and support during this process is provided by Peter Jones who is himself a retired Police Officer.
Peter is also an 'Approved Witness' for Deer Management Qualifications (DMQ) for both the British Deer Society and BASC, as such we are able to offer a first class reference for your local police force. Crucially, we can also offer assistance with 'Land Approval ' for all levels of experience, something which is a common stumbling block with many Firearms Applications. Call Peter on 020 3981 0159 or email him This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Q. Can you supply stalking equipment?
A. Yes, we are very happy to offer advice and we supply everything from quality rifles to the very best Swarovski optics and everything inbetween!!
